first tree

as a kid (and adult) i always longed to have the christmas tree hunting experience i saw in the movies. and heard from other families. going to cut down a real tree. finding the perfect one. smelling the pine. putting it on top of the vehicle.

but i had asthma. and allergies. and was a sickly child. the only christmas our family had a real tree is one that i was very sick. so a fake tree was purchased, and that’s what we stuck with. putting up the christmas tree usually resulted in fights over lugging the huge 3 parts up the stairs. oh, it was beautiful when it was lit and decorated. but then taking it down resulted in the same arguments…

but now, nathan and i are a family. and have our first home. where we can start traditions. we decided to get a little tree to try out my allergies. i can’t tell you how thrilled i was to finally have the experience i had waited so long for!

  2. Jessica- The aunt is me (aunt to pebble that is)! I would love to send you the knitting pattern. Sheena could pass along my email to you..or vise versa! πŸ™‚
